Written, developed and taught by Gregory S. Johnson, PT, FFCFMT A dynamic approach to the assessment and treatment of lower and upper quadrant mechanical and neuromuscular dysfunction. Learn to evaluate and treat soft tissue and joint dysfunctions through integrated mobilization techniques and utilization of Functional Movement Patterns. Functional Orthopedics II provides the student with dynamic treatment strategies for each region of the body. These strategies provide avenues to study and comprehend the interrelationships of the kinetic chain and the effectiveness of enhancing function as a foundation for treating complex orthopedic problems. The course material is based upon the development of advanced palpation and observation skills through the use of Functional Movement Patterns (FMP), adapted from Feldenkrais ATM lesson. The material presents treatment progression from non-weight-bearing to functional weight bearing positions. Objective - Observe posture and movement to identify dysfunctions
- Utilize functional movement patterns to observe and palpate soft tissue or articular dysfunctions.
