Written and developed by Gregory S. Johnson, PT, FFCFMT and Vicky Saliba Johnson, PT, FFCFMT An integrated approach to patient care with emphasis on soft tissue mobilization with PNF, joint mobilization, and exercise training. This is an entry level course which presents tools that can be immediately applied in a clinical setting. This course develops skills that are necessary for advanced course training. Functional Orthopedics I presents a systematic and integrated approach for treatment of musculoskeletal dysfunction and pain, with emphasis on soft tissue mobilization. The cutting edge aspect of FO I is the integration of STM with PNF, joint mobilization, body mechanics training, and rehabilitative exercise programs. The concept of the human body as an interconnected dynamic system will be stressed. This approach emphasizes the enhancement of function as an avenue to effective and efficient treatment of mechanical symptomatology. In addition, the scientific basis of the approach will be provided to assist in integrating the material in to an evidence based practice. The price of the course includes a 2oz jar of Fasica Free. Objective - Define efficient structure and function.
- Observe and identify inefficient structure and function.
- Further enhance the therapists manual palpation skills.
- Introduce the principles and procedures of soft tissue mobilization and discuss their integration with PNF and joint mobilization.
- Introduce methods of developing a specialized exercise program and training in efficient body usage.
- Observed changes in structure, posture, and movement will be correlated to soft tissue dysfunction
- Understand the scientific basis of the approach
